Payphone

Privacy Policy

Privacy is the product line we do not cross.

Payphone rewards verified quiet time without turning employee phones into monitoring devices. This policy explains what the service records, what employers can see, and what stays private.

What Payphone Does

Payphone is a voluntary workplace rewards app. Employees choose when to start and end Focus. On iPhone, Payphone uses Apple's Screen Time system to apply Focus restrictions. On Android, employees can optionally enable a device-local Distraction Guard through Android Accessibility and Usage Access during a user-started Focus.

Android's optional Distraction Guard can react when another app comes to the foreground and can perform a local session audit. It does not retrieve screen content, read messages or keystrokes, click controls, or change device settings. Turning it off stops only local blocking; it does not change reward eligibility or employer reporting.

Employers use Payphone to run rewards, contests, payroll review, and team reporting. Payphone is not a surveillance or employee-monitoring product.

Information We Collect

Account information such as name, email address, employer organization, role, and join-code enrollment status.

Program information such as Focus session start and end times, verified quiet-time totals, reward calculations, leaderboard totals, pay-period status, and challenge participation.

For a signed-in Android reward session, account and Focus-session identifiers, request identifiers, emergency-end state, and an encrypted Play Integrity token used to verify the installed build, license, and device integrity. Payphone's service derives the eligible duration and reward from the verified server Focus lifecycle. Stored security metadata may include Payphone's package name, version code, signing-certificate digest, licensing and integrity verdicts, and verification timestamps.

Employer dashboard information such as team roster entries, admin invites, program settings, billing status, and payout/export records.

On the public website, the Meta Pixel may record page visits and whether a pilot request was successfully submitted so we can measure advertising performance.

Basic technical information needed to operate the service, secure accounts, debug errors, and maintain reliability.

Information We Do Not Collect

Payphone's service does not collect app usage, browsing history, message content, screen contents, call content, precise location, photos, contacts, or off-shift personal activity.

When Apple Screen Time selections are used, Payphone and the employer do not receive the names of apps the employee uses or opens. When Android Distraction Guard is enabled, foreground app identities and individual blocked attempts stay on the employee's device; they are not sent to Payphone or an employer.

How We Use Information

We use information to verify Focus sessions, calculate rewards, show employees their progress, provide employer reporting, operate payroll review workflows, support team contests, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use employee phone activity for advertising. We do not provide employers with private phone-usage details.

Website Advertising Measurement

The public Payphone website uses the Meta Pixel to record page visits and successful pilot-request events. This helps us understand whether advertising is working.

Payphone does not send the name, email, phone number, company, message, or employee app activity entered into our forms through these browser advertising events.

What Employers Can See

Employers can see privacy-safe program data such as verified quiet hours, participation, reward amounts or points, leaderboard position, challenge progress, and payout status.

Employers cannot see which apps an employee uses, Android Distraction Guard events, messages, browsing, screen contents, location, or personal activity during or outside Payphone Focus sessions.

Service Providers

Payphone uses service providers to operate authentication, database hosting, app distribution, website hosting, payments, and support workflows. These providers process information only as needed to provide the service.

Text Messages and Mobile Information

If you separately opt in to receive text messages, Payphone may send one-to-one messages about your inquiry, requested product information, meetings or pilots, account setup, and service updates. Consent to text messages is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Payphone does not sell or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide this information to service providers solely as needed to deliver messages, maintain records, prevent abuse, and operate the messaging service. Mobile opt-in data and consent are excluded from any other data-sharing use.

Retention

We keep account, program, reward, and payroll-review records for as long as needed to operate the service, support employers and employees, satisfy legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

If an employer ends use of Payphone, we can help close or delete workspace records subject to legal, accounting, security, and abuse-prevention requirements.

Choices

Employee participation is voluntary. Employees can choose whether to start or end Focus sessions. Ending a Focus session stops quiet-time verification for that session.

Android Accessibility and Usage Access are optional, user-authorized device controls for local Distraction Guard. Employees can decline or disable them at any time; doing so stops local blocking only and does not affect reward eligibility, settlement, or employer reporting.
